Anaerobic digestion affecting nitrous oxide and methane emissions from the composting process
Dietrich, Maria; Fongen, Monica; Føreid, Bente (Peer reviewed; Journal article, 2021-07-02)Composting and anaerobic digestion are the most common ways to treat organic residues. Sometimes the organic rest after anaerobic digestion is also composted. In this study we investigated greenhouse gas emissions from ... -

Patterns and roles of lignan and terpenoid accumulation in the reaction zone compartmentalizing pathogen-infected heartwood of Norway spruce
Nagy, Nina Elisabeth; Norli, Hans Ragnar; Fongen, Monica; Østby, Runa Berg; Heldal, Inger; Davik, Jahn; Hietala, Ari Mikko (Peer reviewed; Journal article, 2022-02-10)Tree defense against xylem pathogens involves both constitutive and induced phenylpropanoids and terpenoids. The induced defenses include compartmentalization of compromised wood with a reaction zone (RZ) characterized by ... -
Tire crumb rubber in soil surrounding artificial turf fields: Hosle, Nadderud og Føyka artificial turf fields, Norway
Coutris, Claire; Rivier, Pierre-Adrien; Fongen, Monica; Treu, Andreas; Joner, Erik (NIBIO-rapport;7(79) 2021, Research report, 2021-04)The presence of tire crumb rubber particles in soil surrounding three artificial football fields in Asker and Bærum municipalities, Norway, was studied.
