The survey program for apple proliferation phytoplasma focused on the study of three cases / orchards in 2014. These orchards were sampled for testing with the aim of study of latent infections, potential spread from neighbour trees, and if branches or roots should be preferred for sampling orchards. We found no evidence for spread from one infected tree to the neighbour tree. There were some latent infections, on average of all tested symptomless trees, 20 % were infected. Testing of root samples revealed more infected trees than testing of samples from branches, but for samples taken in late September the difference was small, just 9 %.
